fetaLife Technologies S.L. has been founded in 2025 and is backed by years of research.
We are a spin-off of Hospital Sant Joan de Déu, Hospital Clínic Barcelona, and Universitat de Barcelona.
Our purpose is the research, development, manufacturing, innovation and commercialisation of medical devices and medical technology to improve the current treatment for extreme premature babies.
The research project is under development and is being promoted by Hospitals Sant Joan de Déu and Clínic in Barcelona, and boosted thanks to the support of the “la Caixa” Foundation.

Medical and Scientific Coordinator of the Artificial Placenta Project. Associate Professor at the University of Barcelona and postdoctoral researcher. She has published 147 articles in international journals and has supervised 8 doctoral theses. She coordinates the European MULTI-FACT project. Expert in Fetal Medicine and Surgery with more than 100 surgeries.
Executive and Technology Coordinator of Artificial Placenta Project. Associate Professor at the Polytechnic University of Catalonia. Telecommunications engineer and postdoctoral researcher, expert in medical image analysis and processing. She has worked in scientific and business environment, transferring innovation into clinical practice.
